At 11 stories high and 1,000,000 square feet , the Sanford Medical Center project at was the seventh largest healthcare project in the United States and the largest commercial construction project ever in North Dakota. The massive new facility added new children’s/pediatric intensive care units, a family birthing center, NICU and ICU rooms, and operating space. New emergency facilities, cardiology care services, and a central utility plant were also new features supporting the hospital campus.
PIVOTEK’s manufactured building components were procured to offset the area’s extremely low availability of skilled trade resources, to increase quality standards, and expedite the overall construction schedule. PIVOTEK’s early involvement with the design team and onsite trade partners, ensured accuracy for the production of 266 bathrooms. All bathroom units were delivered fully completed with all finishes and fixtures set in place ready for final connection.
“Mortenson had limited prefabrication experience prior Sanford Hospital. The PIVOTEK team did an excellent job keeping us informed of what to expect and how to prepare for the design and construction phases. PIVOTEK was proactive in developing solutions in process and construction details.”
